Subfloor prep basically mimics a traditional glue-down installation in that it needs to be smooth and debris free. There is some forgiveness because the tile has more vinyl content than other products, which lends itself to flexibility.
This flooring is NOT a peel and stick ladies and gentlemen. Solidity Ceramic with Grab-Tak is a different product in many ways. Grab-Tak is 3mm thick–50% greater than traditional self-stick vinyl tiles. Metroflor also uses a professional-grade adhesive with a stronger tack and once applied, Grab-Tak will adhere securely to the subfloor. Since this high grade adhesive is already attached to the back; there is no need to purchase costly adhesives seperately and there is no traditonal installation required such as spreading, setting time, and etc. with this product. The Grab-tak system cuts the time of traditional installation in half! And with a ceramic finish embedded into the wearlayer there is no need to apply a new finish like other flooring products that only have a topcoat, which wears off over time.
