Konecto Installation Tips from Metroflor (the Manufacturer)

KONECTO TIPS
MUST BE ACCLIMATED 24 TO 48 HOURS

1. Tools Needed:
2. Sub Floor Prep:
  • Very Little.
  • Must be Sound, Solid, and have little Flexibility.
  • Water not an issue...Konecto is water proof.
  • Fill large cracks (1/4" or larger) with high quality cementitious patch.
  • Do not go over carpet or soft cushioned Vinyl.
3. Installation:
  • Start left corner of longest wall.
  • Position first plank with under lip facing out.
  • Measure wall to make sure the last plank is longer than 12 inches.
  • Stagger first three courses so that end joints do not line up.
  • Always place cut end of joint next to wall.
  • Never place plank with cut end in the middle of a course.
  • Use hand roller to reinforce bond of joints as you join the planks.
  • Finish job with 100 pound roller.
4. Tips:
  • If end joints appear to be curled when removed from carton simply reverse roll them and place onto lower lip of adjoining plank and roll with hand roller.
  • If some Konecto adhesive seems less tacky, warm with heat gun and install.
  • Job site must be at least 65 degrees or warmer.
  • Material should never sit in vehicle over night during the winter time without properly acclimating material before install, preferably 48 hours.
