Konecto Installation Tips from Metroflor (the Manufacturer)
KONECTO TIPS
MUST BE ACCLIMATED 24 TO 48 HOURS
1. Tools Needed:
MUST BE ACCLIMATED 24 TO 48 HOURS
- Straight Edge
- Square
- Utility Knife
- Linoleum Hand Roller
- 100 Pound Roller
- Very Little.
- Must be Sound, Solid, and have little Flexibility.
- Water not an issue...Konecto is water proof.
- Fill large cracks (1/4" or larger) with high quality cementitious patch.
- Do not go over carpet or soft cushioned Vinyl.
- Start left corner of longest wall.
- Position first plank with under lip facing out.
- Measure wall to make sure the last plank is longer than 12 inches.
- Stagger first three courses so that end joints do not line up.
- Always place cut end of joint next to wall.
- Never place plank with cut end in the middle of a course.
- Use hand roller to reinforce bond of joints as you join the planks.
- Finish job with 100 pound roller.
- If end joints appear to be curled when removed from carton simply reverse roll them and place onto lower lip of adjoining plank and roll with hand roller.
- If some Konecto adhesive seems less tacky, warm with heat gun and install.
- Job site must be at least 65 degrees or warmer.
- Material should never sit in vehicle over night during the winter time without properly acclimating material before install, preferably 48 hours.
