Konecto Install Tips from Flooring Market

  1. Tools needed:
    • Straight Edge
    • Square
    • Utility Knife
    • Linoleum Hand Roller
    • 100 pound roller

 

  1.  Sub Floor Prep:
  • Must be Sound, Solid, and have little Flexibility
  • Water not an issue…Konecto is water proof Fill large cracks (1/4” or larger) with high quality cementitous patch
  • Do not go over carpet or soft cushioned Vinyl.

 

  1. Installation:
  • Start in left corner of longest wall
  • Position 1st plank with under lip facing out.
  • Measure wall to make sure that last plank is longer than 12 inches
  • Stagger first three courses so that end joints do not line up.
  • Always place cut end of joint next to wall.
  • Never place plank with cut end in the middle of a course.
  • Use hand roller to reinforce bond of joints as you join the planks
  • Finish job with 100 pound roller

 

  1. Tips:
  • If end joints appear to be curled when removed from carton simply reverse roll them and place onto lower lip of adjoining plank and roll with hand roller
  • If some Konecto adhesive seems less tacky, warm with heat gun and install.
  • Job site must be at least 65 degrees or warmer.
  • Material should never sit in vehicle over night during the winter time without properly acclimating material before install, preferably 48 hours.
